Thursday the 21st of November is the official Beaujolais Nouveau day in France and we are of course celebrating this juice day at Trevarefabrikken!
The tradition of Beaujolais Nouveau originates from the late 1800s in the region of Beaujolais, south Burgundy. Beaujolais Nouveau is as the name suggests, the newest and freshest Beaujolais wine, harvested and fermented for a few weeks, before it is released on the market the same year as the harvest – in French called vin de primeur – which in the wine world is an usual happening.
These wines are made exclusively from the indigenous Beaujolais grape, Gamay, which together with the technique called maceration carbonique gives juicy, fresh and earthy wines, instantly ready to drink and enjoy!
According to tradition, the wines are always released on the third Thursday in November, but due to long travel routes, we will first celebrate the day on Friday the 22nd of November.
We’ll have a selection of Beaujolais wines from classic producers such as Alex Foillard, Chateau Cambon, Jean-Paul Brun and Yohan Lardy, plus other nice wines by the glass for this night only!
Our kitchen will serve the French classic Coq au Vin:)
